“Listen to your doctor. Focus on your health. Use the technologies.”
For Ben, being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes was a life-changing event—one that came with a wake-up call he never saw coming. “I almost died of a stroke,” he shares. “In fact, I’ve had two strokes, which totally changed my life in many ways—positively.”
It was after his first stroke that he learned he had diabetes, a condition he hadn’t known about because he rarely visited the doctor. That moment marked a turning point, forcing him to reevaluate everything.
Since then, Ben has transformed his life physically and mentally. He’s lost 90 pounds, exercises daily, and now sees “ALL the doctors,” he jokes. Though he’s no longer on insulin, he treats his health with the same seriousness and dedication as he did in the beginning.
To those newly diagnosed, Ben offers this clear and practical advice, “Listen to your doctor. Focus on your health. Use the technologies.” He credits tools like Dexcom G7 for playing a major role in his success.
As an advocate, Ben’s mission is rooted in education. “I want to educate people about everything I’ve learned,” he says. His journey has taught him the value of knowledge, and he’s passionate about sharing it to help others navigate their own paths.
